When I started this blog, I had found myself at a crossroads in life, in a way. Due to various circumstances unrelated to each other, I was at a point of starting over in my life, kinda like I was just out of college. Except that I wasn’t just out of college and I actually have a good job that makes decent money. Not a ton, but enough. And more importantly, I have the last 15-20 years of experience under my belt. Like most people in life, I had for the most part just kinda coasted through life doing things as they presented themselves.
But I had never sat back and thought about who do I want to be and what kind of life do I want? I’m not talking major changes like let’s sell everything and move to Russia. (Is it still Russia? I’ve lost track of world geography.) I’m just talking about trying to deliberately steer my life instead of floating with the current.
So this blog records my tries at deliberately reinventing my life into one that I want it to be. Or at least figuring out who I am right now? It can also be simply what I’m going through and how it affects all this. And food. And dancing. Who really knows? Follow along and hopefully you’ll enjoy it!
*My name is Cathy, and I’m a 41-year-old sarcastic quirky girl. But I look 30. And I often feel about 28.
*Single (divorced if you must know) and no kids. Actually quite happy about both those things right now.
*I’m almost 100% Irish.
*I love ballroom dancing.
*I say “dude” right before an important statement…except at work.
*When emotions are running high (or getting the Irish up, as my friends say), I tend to swear. But I also know a lot about etiquette and can be very proper.
*One of my favorite words is “awesome”.
*I love the ellipsis…who doesn’t?
*So I start a lot of sentences with “so”.
*Ballroom dancing is my passion and my hobby.
*I sometimes think that deep-down, I’m really a sloth, so I try to fight that instinct often.
*Did I mention I love ballroom dancing?

I have often thought about starting a blog on re-inventing myself. But being the procrastinator I am, never got around to it. We seem to have a lot in common. Ballroom dancing is my passion, as well, and can’t imagine life without it. Your post about being a good dance student is spot on. Looking forward to more of your posts.
Thanks Darlene! Ballroom dancing is definitely my thing. Glad you enjoyed the posts – let me know your thoughts on them!
So glad to meet you! You sound so awsome dude.
Yep I say that too. At 52 people look at me a little funny sometimes. Oh well.
Cathy, I would like to share the ABC award with you. Your “starting over” blog is great. I know others will enjoy it too. Please don’t feel obligated to pass the award along, but if you want to participate, you can read about it at GrowthLines:
